简介: Professor Wei Xia received his PhD degree in 2007 from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He worked in R&D centre of Unilever (Shanghai) in 2007-2008. From 2008 to 2010, he moved to Sweden, and worked as a postdoc fellow in BIOMATCELL and Uppsala University. He was promoted to associate professor in material science in 2012, and professor in 2022. Professor Wei Xia has published more than 200 journal articles and conference contributions, 1 edited book, and 6 book chapters. He owns more than 40 patents (Applied and granted) in 15 patent families. He has been interviewed by Uppsala Innovation magazine and Swedish Television (SVT) for research in bioceramics, and received Bona Postulata Prize. He has received Swedish Research Council starting grant, and his research is funded by VR, VINNOVA, STINT, Carltrygger, UU Innovation, MAXIV and Horizon 2020. He is currently the president of the Swedish Academy of Ceramic Ondotology, and served on the editorial board of “Bioactive Materials”. He has co-founded 3 biotech spin-offs and is co-developing products with international companies.
